Todd Hazlewood

Todd Hazlewood is an independent director with Calderwood, serving on the boards of investment funds, investment management entities regulated under the Securities Investment Business Act, reinsurance and alternative risk transfer vehicles, and other Cayman-regulated financial services entities.
Biography

With over 25 years of experience in public accounting, investment funds, and financial services, Todd brings deep expertise in the Cayman Islands regulatory framework. His background spans AML compliance, corporate services, fund accounting, risk management, shareholder services, and global tax reporting. He has extensive first-hand experience across these operational and regulatory disciplines, which informs his governance approach for complex, regulated structures.

Todd’s board and governance work includes serving as an independent non-executive director, Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer, and Money Laundering Reporting Officer to entities regulated in the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, and Bahamas. He also sits on investment advisory committees to US-domiciled investment funds across long/short equities, derivatives, funds of funds, real estate, credit, and digital assets. He has worked closely with some of the largest and most sophisticated managers and advisors across Europe and the Americas, building a client service-focused governance style.

Todd’s investment oversight experience includes reviewing portfolio construction, valuation governance, liquidity management, and asset liability alignment for a wide range of strategies. He has supported entities through regulatory inspections, thematic reviews, and ongoing compliance obligations, and brings crisis-tested judgment shaped by years of navigating market stress, operational challenges, and cross-border regulatory environments.

Prior to joining Calderwood, Todd held senior leadership roles at multiple governance and fiduciary services firms, including serving as Managing Director of a CIMA-licensed Company Manager. He has a long track record of building governance solutions for sophisticated, regulated structures.

Todd is a Member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association and a Registered Professional Director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. He is a Certified Public Accountant (2007), an Accredited Director under the Chartered Governance Institute of Canada, and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (2019). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Sonoma State University in California.
